The mounting strip is packed separately for self-assembly (two half-strips), the inside of the box has rough surface with many spots for bats to cling to, the boards of each panel are connected by spline joint (with origins in the best joinery traditions), which prevents gaps that would make the box unsuitable for bats, the box is self-cleaning.
