The bird table is designed to be installed on horizontal surfaces (windowsills, balconies, specially designed stands – the bird table comes with 2 metal angle brackets and screws to install on a post), the Professor-type bird table design was based on the bohemian waxwing bird table with modifications suggested by Professor Piotr Tryjanowski and Łukasz Myczko, PhD from Poznań University of Life Sciences, the purpose of the changes was to create a bird table to be used in scientific research on food selectivity of birds throughout Poland in winter, at the end of 2021 the roof size was increased in order to allow appropriate hygiene standards, the larger roof size prevents the food from getting wet even better than before, and for the same reasons the wooden food trays were replaced with plastic ones (they can be taken out and washed in hot water with detergent without worrying that they might be damaged or not fully clean, like it happens with wooden ones).
